Security Engineer – Fortinet and Check Point

About the Role:

Our client in Delft is looking for an experienced Security Engineer to join their team. This role requires expertise in Fortinet and Check Point security solutions, with experience in F5 being a strong plus. The right candidate will have hands on experience in designing, implementing and managing network security infrastructure to protect against evolving cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy, configure and maintain Fortinet and Check Point firewalls
• Manage and optimise F5 load balancers for security and performance
• Implement network segmentation, VPNs and intrusion prevention systems
• Monitor security infrastructure, detect and respond to threats
• Collaborate with network and SOC teams to improve overall security posture
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex security issues in enterprise environments

Requirements:

• Must be fluent in Dutch, English is a plus
• Strong experience with Fortinet and Check Point security technologies
• Knowledge of F5 load balancers is preferred
• Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, IDS and access control policies
• Understanding of network protocols including BGP, OSPF and VLANs
• Experience working with security compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, GDPR and NIST
• Certifications such as NSE4+, CCSE and F5 CTS are a plus
